Carabineros informó que Sebastián Piñera aprobó la modificación del alto mando institucional para el año 2021, propuesto por el general director Ricardo Yáñez Reveco, quien asumió el jueves pasado tras la renuncia del general Mario Rozas.
Según un comunicado, este nuevo alto mando podrá énfasis «en el fortalecimiento de la formación policial, la probidad, la transparencia y el apego irrestricto a los derechos humanos, características que definirán al ‘carabinero del Centenario’ que se proyecta ofrecer a Chile y a todos sus habitantes».
Entre los cambios, se consigna la renuncia por motivos personales del general Iván Ketterer Lavandero, quien había sido nombrado como jefe de Carabineros en La Araucanía. En su reemplazo asumió el general César Bobadilla Pinilla, recién ascendido
Además, el general Rodrigo Cerda Navarro ascendió a general inspector, mientras que los coroneles Iván Monje Neira y el ya mencionado César Bobadilla Pinilla ascendieron a generales.
De esta manera, al general director Ricardo Yáñez lo acompañarán en la cima del alto mando el general subdirector Mauricio Rodríguez Rodríguez; el director nacional de Apoyo a las Operaciones Policiales, general inspector Enrique Bassaletti Riess; el director nacional de Orden y Seguridad, general inspector Esteban Díaz Urbina, y el jefe de Zona Metropolitana, general inspector Marcelo Araya Zapata.
